Jordan Tourism Board announces over 100 Travel Industry Professionals from North
America and Latin America are attending the 2nd  annual Jordan Travel Mart
February 21, 22, 23, 2010  at the Dead Sea, Jordan

(Amman, Jordan and McLean, VA)  The Jordan Tourism Board announces that over 100 “Buyers” of tourism products/services and international Travel Industry journalists from the USA, Canada, Mexico, Central America, and South America are attending the 2nd Annual Jordan Travel Mart (JTM) February 21, 22, 23, 2010 at the King Hussein Bin Talal Convention Center at the Dead Sea.  The total attendance at this year’s JTM is expected to be about 350 delegates, a 25% increase over last year’s inaugural event.

These carefully selected executives will meet with 100 Jordan hotels, receptive operators, and other suppliers of Travel Services in Jordan during the three (3) day event. The Jordan Travel Mart activities include seminars, workshops, “networking” social events, and a pre-scheduled appointments format that arranges specific 25 minute appointments between the “Buyers” and Jordan “Suppliers.” Most of the international delegates are also participating in a variety of extensive pre and post tours.

In addition to the Jordan Tourism Board, many of Jordan’s leading tourism companies and organizations are actively involved as Jordan Travel Mart Sponsors & Partners including Royal Jordanian Airline; the Dead Sea resorts including the Kempinski, Marriott, and Moevenpick; the Jordan Hotel Association (JHA); the Jordan Restaurant Association (JRA); the Royal Society for the Conservation of Nature (RSCN); The Jordan Inbound Tour Operators Association (JITOA); Jordan Express Tourist Transport Company (JETT); the Airport International Group (AIG); National Geographic Adventure (NGA); Petra Kitchen; Aqaba Special Economic Zone Authority (ASEZA); USAID; Greater Amman Muncipality (GAM); IRIS from the Dead Sea; and the King Hussein Bin Talal Convention Center.  Media Sponsors include the Performance Media Group (PMG) and Baxter Travel Media; National Geographic Adventure; Adventure Travel Trade Association (ATTA).

In making the Jordan Travel Mart announcement, Nayef H. Al-Fayez, Jordan Tourism Board Managing Director said: “This Event is providing an important opportunity for members of the Jordan Travel Industry to personally meet travel professionals from these important markets in a professional environment.  We are confident that when these JTM Buyers and Journalists return to their homes and offices, they will have personally experienced all the wonders Jordan has to offer, and truly experience the diversity of this unique destination.”

Malia Asfour, Jordan Tourism Board North America Director, said:  “We believe Jordan offers a variety of unique experiences that are attractive to tourists from The Americas, especially as the Travel Industry enters a period of economic uncertainty.  JTM will help these Buyers understand how Jordan itineraries and ‘products’ can be profitable for them. Almost 800 appointments between Buyers and Suppliers have already been pre-scheduled, and we are working hard to make sure all our delegates and visiting journalists have a productive and enjoyable experience.”

The International Buyers are making an investment to attend and participate at JTM.  Buyers pay a US$150 Registration Fee plus airfare.  (Royal Jordanian has offered special discounted airfares.)  Buyers also pay for their pre and post tours.  Jordan Suppliers pay US$1,195 to register and attend all business, educational, and social events.

This year’s Jordan Travel Mart seminars will focus on the Adventure Travel segment of the Industry.  National Geographic Adventure Magazine, The Adventure Travel & Tourism Association and the Royal Society for the Conservation of Nature (RSCN) will conduct a special “Adventure Travel” seminar.  Bob Whitley, United States Tour Operators Association (USTOA) President will make the Keynote Presentation and also moderate a special Panel Discussion/Workshop.  A detailed schedule of events and additional information are available on the event web site: www.jordantravelmart.com .  Jordan Travel Mart is managed by William H.
